RestartIT gives your old PC or Laptop a second life.

Laptops and computers are often quickly replaced. We often buy a new machine long before the old one has stopped working, and the old is all but forgotten in a closet or gets thrown into the thrash. But the old machine is still very valuable.

RestartIT tries to make people aware of the fact that the life span of materials we use if often much longer than we think. We try to actively take on this problem by collecting 1000 laptops and PC’s over the next 4 months and giving them a new destination.

RestartIT wants to contribute to a healthier production cycle of electronics. Re-using old machines has a direct effect on the consumption of energy, water, resources and capital. The often dubious waste management is reduced and less packaging materials and transport are needed. Moreover, there are many institutes and people that do not have a computer but do need them. For example, refugee centres, schools, families who do not have the means to buy a computer.

Do you have an old laptop or pc lying around and would you like to donate it to a good cause? Please think of RestartIT. We make sure that your old machine gets a new purpose: we take care of safe data removal if necessary, we repair the machine if needed and we get it to its new destination. If your machine does not work at all anymore, we will make sure that the parts get recycled in the most useful way.
